Yes, definitely visit housing developments to see what type of house you like and to price the cost of building to their plan and the price of any extra inclusions. But be wary about signing up before exploring other options. Often housing estate salespeople use gimmicks, freebies and giveaways to lure people in to sign up. Be aware that the cost of these are all part of the overall price of building a house with the company. Remember, nothing is truly free. It is all in the perception but you will pay for it one way or another.

Comparing building quotes through Compare the Builder offers many advantages, such as:

  1. Consistency in services and inclusions, ensuring that all the quotes you receive from prospective builders are fair, consistent and that they all quote on the same scope of work. This means it is easier to compare the quotes with each other.
  2. It streamlines the decision-making process by presenting various options within a familiar framework, making it easier to assess which builder best suits your budget and needs.
  3. It may facilitate higher value quotes from the builders as you are part of group buying power, rather than a one off build. There may be potential cost savings or additional incentives provided to win your tender.

Not only this, we work with you to select the quote that offers you a high quality result that works within your budget while giving you value for money. Cheapest is not always best value for money. Some things that affect value for money in a building quote include:

  • Builders quoting on different scopes of work.
  • Additional costs that may not be included in the scope of work and arise throughout the build.
  • Quality of materials the builder intends to use.
  • The builder’s experience and reputation.
  • How quickly they will complete the project.

Building plans are crucial for building your new home or even for a renovation. They are a blueprint for the builder to get everything right and they save you time and money throughout the build.

Here are some reasons why you need building plans:

  • Useful for obtaining a building permit so you can proceed with building or renovating your home.
  • Builders use the plans to build your home or to complete the renovation so the end result matches your vision.

While having building plans is important, it is just a small piece of the puzzle.

Whether you are just starting and do not have a final plan or you have collaborated with a designer or architect to create building plans that suit your lifestyle, there is a lot of work during the pre-construction phase. This is essential to accurately tender the plan and obtain like-for-like quotes.

Everyone we work with requires an individual approach. We need to take into account different blocks of land, types of renovations, house plans and requirements. This involves detailing services, budgets, timeframes and specific inclusions. Our meticulous process empowers everyone involved to make informed decisions, exploring different options to discover the most suitable solution to achieve the required end result.

When comparing plans for rebuilding your old house, consider a few crucial aspects. Look at the services provided – ensure they cover all necessary elements. Check the contractor’s reputation and past work for quality assurance. Review the cost breakdown to align with your budget and understand payment schedules.

Understand the proposed timelines and project management details. Scrutinize the contract terms, ensuring clarity on warranties, liabilities, and any specific conditions. Assess communication methods and support offered. Finally, look for any additional value or unique offerings within the plans, such as innovative designs or eco-friendly options. This comprehensive evaluation will help you make an informed decision best suited to your rebuilding needs.

The average costing of plans for rebuilding old houses can vary significantly based on factors such as the scope of work, materials used, size of the house, and additional services included.
